Sarah Willett

Sarah WillettSarah began singing and dancing at a young age, knowing early on that performing was one of her passions. Sarah started dancing at age 5, and at age 11, Sarah was awarded a Silver Medal from the Royal Conservatory of Music for achieving the highest mark in all of Ontario on the Grade 2 Singing examination. Sarah graduated from the Integrated Arts Program at Eastwood Collegiate Institute in Kitchener, majoring in Dance, Drama, and Vocal. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Music (Education – Voice Major) from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Bachelor of Education from York University.

After spending several years living and teaching abroad in Honduras, Sarah returned home and jumped right back into the local arts scene. Sarah is a dance instructor teaching several different styles of dance including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Creative Moment, Musical Theatre, Latin, African, and Bollywood. Sarah currently teaches classes at Davenport Dance Project. Sarah is a choreographer for the local show choir KW Glee and also teaches voice at Renaissance School of the Arts.

In her spare time, Sarah enjoys performing with K-W Musical Productions. Some of her favourite roles include: Mayzie LaBird in Seussical, Mrs MacAfee in Bye Bye Birdie, Susan in The Full Monty, Mrs. Pye in Anne of Green Gables and Jack’s Mom in Into The Woods. Sarah also choreographed Grease and The Drowsy Chaperone for K-W Musical Productions, and is currently choreographing Oliver! for The Community Players of New Hamburg.


Cody Burns

Cody got his start in theatre 10 years ago in an elementary school production of The Wizard of Oz, and the theatre bug has stuck with him ever since. Over the last decade, he has performed with many local organizations including MT Space, KW Glee and The Singer’s Theatre.

Cody is the former Artistic Director of KW Youth Theatre, where he produced and directed over 30 theatrical plays for youth aged 8 to 18. Theatrical works include original devised pieces, physical theatre, classical Shakespeare and contemporary theatre forms. He is also a current member of the Board of Directors with K-W Musical Productions, and a Technical Assistant with the KW Symphony.

Dabbling in theatre positions on and off-stage, Cody has trained as a stage manager, director, actor, technician, and everything in between. As an actor, Cody appeared as Sonny in K-W Musical Productions’ Grease. He has been recognized for his accomplishments in the city with a Waterloo Region Arts Award (2015). Cody earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre and performance at the University of Waterloo.


David Atkinsdavid-atkins

David is one of Waterloo Region’s top acting coaches. He has directed numerous musicals for K-W Musical Productions including Shrek, Seussical, Grease, Bye Bye Birdie, Anne of Green Gables, 13: The Musical, Little Shop of Horrors and more. David trained at Brock University in acting and spent several years as a professional actor in Los Angeles before moving back to Ontario to become a school teacher. He has been a grade 7 teacher at Westheights Public School for over 25 years.
